Are you an artist/maker/designer based in australia and want support to platform and sell your creations? We’re sparking a new online platform that helps local and unrepresented artists sell work through a curated online art marketplace, where you share your works, and we take care of the shipping and details.
As an artist-led team, we’re familiar with the complexities and labour beyond just creating work, and we want to help facilitate more sustainable creative practices in our community.
Outer Space are inviting emerging to mid-career artists and designers based in australia to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to have their works sold on consignment via the Outer Space online art shop. These works may include (but are certainly not limited to) canvases, jewellery, prints, small sculpture and design products.
From the EOI round, a selection of works will be curated for the online store, and new collections will be promoted in drops, with a new offering every 6-months.
The current EOI round will close midnight Sunday 30 June. Here is a summary of the key things for you to know when submitting an EOI:

Artists are required to have/or are willing to obtain an ABN if selected for the collection drop

Artists must not be represented by a gallery at the time of the EOI or throughout the display period on the online store

Works or items on consignment must not be priced over $3000 per item

Outer Space will take a 30% commission on goods sold, with all proceeds going directly back into our program of exhibitions, community engagement activities and professional development sessions. Artwork creating more art work!

Artists are strongly encouraged to obtain public and products liability insurance for their goods. Outer Space will not be liable for the damage or theft of goods during the freight or housing of goods for the online store.

Outer Space will hold exclusive selling rights for the items on consignment for the 6-month display period. Unsold works during this time will be returned to the artist.

Artists are required to deliver the selected works to Outer Space at 420 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley in Meanjin (Brisbane).
