Drawing with Light Workshop | Holly Anderson
1:30 - 3:00pm, 16 July 2022
Join Outer Space studio artist Holly Anderson for a 1.5 hour drawing workshop hosted in the Outer Space Gallery. In this session, you'll learn techniques for capturing light, reflections and movement in your drawings and observe the surprising ways these phenomena flatten and skew our perceptual worlds. Before the large glass windows of the OS gallery, Holly will take you through connecting sensory experiences with what you produce on paper.
All materials will be provided.
About Holly Anderson:
Holly Anderson works with painting to investigate sensory experiences with light and landscape. In continual reference to the bathers and sunlit subjects of romantic Australian landscape painting, various ways sunlight might accentuate the limits of perception or describe a strange permeability of the lit world are tentatively explored. In 2017 she completed a BFA with Honours at the Queensland College of Art in Meanjin, Brisbane where she now teaches sessionally.
The Creative Sparks Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council to support local arts and culture in Brisbane.
