Cross-Mending: Closing Talks

On the final day of the exhibition, Cross-mending, we will hold an informal roundtable discussion with exhibiting artists Robert Andrew, Jessica Enkera and Sancintya Mohini Simpson, followed by a conversation between Nicholete Brocchi and Callum McGrath.

Cross-Mending Artists Roundtable Discusion:

Join Robert Andrew, Jessica Enkera and Sancintya Mohini Simpson in discussing themes explored in Cross-mending, their exhibited works and their individual practices. This informal discussion will be facilitated by Liam Bryan-Brown, with questions and participation from the audience encouraged.

Robert Andrew, Jessica Enkera and Sancintya Mohini Simpson are each exhibiting artists in Cross-mending. Liam Bryan-Brown is a co-curator of the exhibition.

Nicholete Brocchi and Callum McGrath Conversation:

Nicholete Brocchi and Callum McGrath will discuss the importance and limitations of queer cultural inheritance when researching queer history. They will discuss their research into other artists' projects and practices globally that are working with queer history and trauma. This talk will also be a place for an informal discussion open to the audience on issues they feel important in the queer community.

Nicholete Brocchi is a founding co-director of Queer College of Art and an artist working and living in Meanjin (Brisbane). Callum McGrath is an artist and founding co-director of Serious Queer Business. His work exhibited in Cross-mending was produced during his studio residency at Outer Space in 2018.
