Canter
Sidney McMahon
7 — 23 June 2019
Opening Reception: 7 June 2019, 6 - 9pm
Canter is a new sculptural installation that explores the ways in which time tunnels and memories bleed out. Hands with too many fingers, chains, a 3/4 beat, baby's breath and lilac lies are nestled in thick black plastic curled into submission.
With a focus on collaboration and interdisciplinary practice, Anna McMahon works across site specific sculptural installation, video and performance to explore a personal queer narrative. Recent residencies include Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), Studio Voltaire (London), 3331 Arts Chiyoda (Tokyo), and Wysing Arts Centre (Cambridge). She has shown nationally and internationally at COMA (Sydney), Campbelltown Arts Centre (Campbelltown), Auto Italia South East (London), Metro Arts (Brisbane), The Walls (Gold Coast), and Clearview (London).
This project has been assisted by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. | |
