Join us for a special screening of Ben Russell's Good Luck, a bifurcated study of men under pressure. In Serbia, we descend hundreds of metres deep into the earth. The diesel engines chug, stone is drilled and in the distance we hear explosions. It is always night for these copper miners. The tropical sun of the illegal Surinamese gold mine, Kiíki Nëígi, glazes its workers with sweat as they expose their country’s soil.

Binding light and dark, heat and cold, north and south through the close, lived, attention to the physical labour of mining, Russell’s documentary is a portrait of a community formed in contact with rock.
